“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style”
― Maya Angelou
Who am I? That’s a good question…I’m still trying to figure that out. I like to think of myself as someone who strives to grow in mind, body, and spirit and tries to enjoy life to the fullest.
I created my blog Soulbird Jade to get my thoughts, ideas, and creative works out there to the world in the hopes that it touches and helps people in some way. I’ve dealt with low self-esteem and low confidence, existential crises, fumbling through adulthood (still am!), and healing from childhood wounds (we all have ’em), among other things. There were so many things that I know now that I wish I knew 5 years, 1 year, or even 6 months ago.
If those lessons have helped me, I know they could help others too. Soulbird Jade focuses on holistic living, wellness, personal growth, spirituality, social work insights, and more. Through Soulbird Jade, I share my truths, my evolution of womanhood, my quest to figure out who I am in this world, and my mental health journey – things I think many of us can relate to.
When I’m not moonlighting as a blogger, I am making it rain for social change as a nonprofit fundraising professional while also attending school for my MSW. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, dancing my heart out, exploring the city, connecting with family and friends, and cuddling with my two cats.
